If they’re not giving up, why should we?

At Past Prime, we search (and search) for meaning in the careers of middle-aged Rock stars and ballplayers. Sometimes we find sad farts. Sometimes we find desperate messes. But, occasionally, we discover brilliant revelations. And so, we keep on searching.

About us

Matty Wishnow is a husband and father. Previously he was the founder of Insound.com and Clearhead as well as the Managing Director of Design at Accenture Interactive. Matty is curious about advanced baseball statistics, good design, music made in 1977, music made before (and after) 1977, vinyl records, great storytellers & middle aging. He lives in Austin, TX and Waitsfield, VT.

Steve Collins is also a husband and father. He wrote and directed the feature films “I’ve Got Issues” and “You Hurt My Feelings,” a New York Times and New York Magazine critics pick. His first feature, “Gretchen,” won Best Narrative Feature at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Presently, he heads the film production department at Wesleyan University and lives in Middletown, CT. Steve has steadfastly refused to move on from late period Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison.

Kevin Blake is (you guessed it) a husband and father. He is also an overeducated lawyer, a children’s book author and a poker enthusiast. Previously, in the early 2000s, he was one half of Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s second best fantasy football franchise. Presently, he lives with his wife and two children in Providence, Rhode Island. Kevin was deeply, irretrievably traumatized in 1983 by the sight of George Brett charging umpire Tim McClelland following the infamous “Pine Tar Home Run.”
