Van Morrison "Avalon Sunset" cassette tape
By the end of the Eighties, Van had revealed his New Age Romantic side. I mean, we always new he had a New Age side (he married Janet Planet) and a Romantic side (“Tupelo Honey,” anyone?) but maybe we didn’t know how far he’d take things. This album gets real mellow — some of it could pass for background music. And it gets real sappy — some of it would wind up on Hallmark cards. And yet, it’s totally lovely. "Have I Told You Lately" is a classic. The Cliff Richard duet, "Whenever God Shines His Light,” is simply lovely. And “Orange Field” and “These are the Days,” send us back to Autumn in Ireland. Tape in very good vintage condition.
